The Holy month is coming and with fasting, our body will go through numerous changes. Our skin will become dehydrated due to the reduced intake of liquids and will require special care since our body will pull water from the skin to send to its most vital organs. We know how drinking a lot of water is important after breaking the fast (10-15 glasses each night. If you struggle to drink plain water, add some mint or lemon) but we must also give the right attention to our alimentation privileging food super charged in water, vitamins and minerals. Dates, the staple food of Ramadan, have some great nutritional benefits such as potassium, fibers, manganese, iron, vitamins A, B, C and magnesium. 3 dates a day are enough, due to their high sugar content. Saturated fat and carbohydrates are better avoided especially in processed food. Give your body an adequate repair with a proper night’s sleep of 6 hours minimum. During fasting, our skin can easily lose moisture and lacks hydration. It will increase sebaceous oil activity blocking pores and causing acne. Summer season is around the corner, high temperatures, AC and UV will not help.
What should be a the perfect skincare routine during Ramadan? Start your day washing your face with a gentle cleanser like THE FOAM. Used morning and evening, it will preserve your skin’s layer and remove impurities, dust and oil.
